Mauritanie: carte de séjour exigée pour presque tous les étrangers dès juin.

altUne carte de séjour pour tous les étrangers, à l'exception de ceux de pays voisins, sera exigée pour vivre en Mauritanie à compter du 1er juin afin de mieux lutter contre le "terrorisme" et "le crime organisé", a appris mercredi l'AFP de source officielle. 
Le ministère des Affaires étrangères "a officiellement écrit aux représentations internationales présentes" en Mauritanie "pour les informer de cette mesure qui s'impose désormais dans le cadre de la sécurisation du pays face au terrorisme et au crime organisé" a précisé cette source.
La lettre, dont l'AFP a obtenu copie, affirme que les étrangers "ont été sensibilisés sur cette question par le biais des représentants des colonies étrangères" en Mauritanie et qu'un bureau spécial a été ouvert à cet effet dans un commissariat de la capitale Nouakchott.
Les étrangers doivent désormais fournir des dossiers comportant un passeport en cours de validité pour obtenir une carte de séjour, sauf pour les "immigrés privilégiés" que sont les ressortissants de pays voisins - Sénégal, Mali et Gambie - qui n'ont besoin que d'une carte d'identité pour entrer en Mauritanie.
La réciproque est valable pour les Mauritaniens se rendant dans ces trois pays.
Le ministère a averti que la nouvelle mesure, qui s'inscrit dans le "cadre du contrôle du flux migratoire", concernait "l'ensemble des étrangers, adultes et enfants, vivant sur le sol mauritanien, sans exception".
Cette mesure avait été évoquée mi-avril avec les autorités mauritaniennes par le ministre sénégalais des Affaires étrangères Alioune Badara Cissé, lors d'une visite à Nouakchott. Il avait déclaré que "ces opérations de sécurisation" du pays permettaient à la Mauritanie "non seulement la protection de son espace mais aussi de tout l'espace ouest-africain et même africain".
